Our Story

Little Fig is a family business in Gloucestershire. All of our pieces are handmade by us with love and care, and all of our patterns are fully designed, drafted and tested by us too. We began with a focus on baby and childrenswear, and we now also design adult patterns.

We use natural fibres wherever possible and baby & child friendly fabrics - our very own Little Fig tries our sample piece before we make up further pieces.

Here at Little Fig, we love traditional clothing styles, so create practical pieces that retain a traditional style. Sustainable fashion is important to us so we ignore 'fast fashion' trends, opting for timeless, long-lasting clothing. We aim for our clothing to be suitable for everyday wear, as well as being perfect for a special occasion

How We Work

Every step of the process stays right here with us, from pattern drafting, sourcing beautiful, natural fabrics and yarns, to making, testing, and finishing each piece by hand.

When designing a new pattern, we create sample pieces to enable us to test the full size range of our design before our test makers make their pieces too. When making our samples, we use the same high quality natural fibres and fabrics and the same love and care, and attention to detail that goes into all of our made-to-order and ready-to-send pieces.

Our patterns are continually reviewed – we are always keen to work with feedback on our patterns, to ensure that they are as clearly written and easy to use as possible.

We also offer a made-to-order service, on a limited range of our own designs, plus a custom order service, where we can work with you to design something that is just for you.

Who We Are

Little Fig was created when our own 'Little Fig' was born. After years of making clothes for family and friends we decided the time had come to share our love of creating beautiful clothes and accessories.

Michelle has been making clothes for over 30 years, alongside her previous careers in retail, childcare and teaching. She designs our knitting & crochet patterns, and makes our knitted and crocheted pieces.

Charis is a Fashion Design graduate, and knew very early on in her studies, that she wanted to use her skills in the world of childrenswear - this love of design quickly extended into designing womenswear too. She designs our sewing patterns, and makes our sewn pieces.

With our very own Little Fig always ready to tell us what makes for a great design, and with a lovely community around us, supporting our ideas and venture, Little Fig has now become our full time world.
